Timbermen lose to Thunder in home opener

The Nanaimo Timbermen weren’t able to match the defending champs in crunch time.

The senior A T-men were defeated 10-5 by the first-place Langley Thunder in Western Lacrosse Association action on Saturday, June 3.

It was the home opener for the Timbermen and they stayed with the Thunder for two periods, as the score was 5-4 for Langley early in the third period before the game got out of reach.

Zach Manns scored a hat trick to lead Nanaimo and Justin Geddie made 33 saves in defeat as his team was outshot 43-38.

GAME ON … The T-men play the Maple Ridge Burrards on Sunday, June 4, on the mainland. Next weekend, Nanaimo has two home games, hosting the Burnaby Lakers on Friday, June 9, at 7 p.m., then taking on the Coquitlam Adanacs on Saturday, June 10, at 5 p.m.
