White Rapids can hardly wait to get swim season started

The B.C. Summer Swimming Association club is holding registration next month and has firmed up its coaching staff.

The Nanaimo White Rapids are planning to get back in the pool pretty soon.

The B.C. Summer Swimming Association club is holding registration next month and has firmed up its coaching staff.

“We’ve put together a dynamic group  of very experienced coaches to build on the successes of the past few years,” said Gareth Saunders, White Rapids coach, in a press release.

He mentioned that swimming is a low-impact activity that can help young athletes cross-train for their other sports.

“We’re … able to help youths of all swimming abilities develop a great aerobic base and core strength, while instilling the valuable life skills of commitment and teamwork,” Saunders said.

The White Rapids are based out of Bowen Park’s Kin Pool. Registration will be held April 25-26 at the pool from noon-2 p.m. each day.
