The North Island Silvertips challenged the league’s best, but couldn’t quite win.

Nanaimo’s B.C. Major Midget League hockey team travelled to Kelowna and lost 6-2 and 3-2 to the first-placed Okanagan Rockets.

Joe Gage and Clayton Peace scored for the ’Tips in the first game and Peace and Hunter Findlater scored in the rematch.

The Silvertips (5-6-1) have a bye before their next game Nov. 10 at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
