Three basketball games hit hardcourt

There isn't a full slate of basketball action tonight, but there are a few intriguing matchups on the schedule.

There isn't a full slate of basketball action tonight, but there are a few intriguing matchups on the schedule. Regular-season high school hoops continues tonight (Jan. 22) with three games in Nanaimo.

The feature game is at the Woodlands Secondary School gym, where the Eagles senior AA boys will host the Nanaimo District Islanders at 7 p.m.

The other boys' game in the city is at Wellington Secondary School, where the Wildcats host the Ladysmith '49ers at 7 p.m. in senior AA action.

Also tonight, the Dover Bay Dolphins senior AAA girls play host to the Cowichan Thunderbirds in a 5:30 p.m. tipoff at the Dover Bay Secondary School gym.

Dover's boys are on the road at Cowichan tonight.

In tournament results from this past weekend, the Wellington senior AA girls won the Victoria Police Tournament, defeating the Claremont Spartans 66-56 in the final, and the Woodlands boys placed third at the Esquimalt Fire Tournament.
