The Nanaimo Clippers are nearly ready to skate onto the ice for training camp, but there are still a few off-ice matters to attend to.

The B.C. Hockey League team is looking to fill its last few volunteer positions and seeks game-night help with music, stats keeping, souvenir sales and other tasks. Those interested are asked to call 250-327-1150 or e-mail jen@nanaimoclippers.com.

The Clips open camp Monday (Sept. 5) with the first on-ice sessions Tuesday at Frank Crane Arena.

"It's been a summer filled with lots of office-type work," said Mike Vandekamp, Clippers general manager. "It's going to be nice to finally get on the ice."

For a preview of training camp, please check back at Clippers Central over the weekend.
