Powerslams and pinfalls return to Nanaimo this weekend.

Vancouver Island Pro Wrestling is holding a card Saturday (July 23) at the Departure Bay Activity Centre.

The Vancouver Island championship will be on the line as Eddie Osbourne defends against former champ Bishop.

The all-Nanaimo team of B.J. Laredo and Scott Steel will be in action as well, defending their VIPW tag-team titles against a to-be-determined team.

The card features an extreme-rules match, with Cremator Von Slasher taking on Krofton. Riea Von Slasher faces Liiza Hall and Lak Siddartha takes on Nolan James.

Tickets are $15 at the door or $10 in advance at Centre Court Collectibles, That ’50s Barbershop and China Steps Emporium. Front-row seats are $20 at the door or $15 in advance. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., an early start time so that wrestling fans can catch the Nanaimo Marine Festival fireworks that night.
