Palladian Pirates extend streak

The Nanaimo Palladian Pirates junior baseball players, just like their older brothers the premier Pirates, are riding high on an eight-game win streak. The juniors defeated the Vancouver Cannons by scores of 5-4 and 5-2 on Saturday at Serauxmen Stadium.

In the early game, Griffin Andreychuk got the win on the mound, helping his own cause with a walk-off hit by pitch. Aidan Goodall had two runs batted in. In the later game Bryan Odgers was the winning pitcher, allowing one earned run over six innings. Spencer Dawson drove in a pair of runs.

The junior Pirates play road games against the Abbotsford Cardinals on Saturday (June 4) and North Shore Twins on Sunday.
