Riley Kazanowski and Caleb Harder won gold in the U17 boys’ division and Nanaimo also had gold medallists in both the U17 girls’ divisions. Victoria Behie and her Parksville partner won Tier 1 and Kaitlyn Franklin and a Campbell River partner won Tier 2.

Robbie Calvin and a partner from Courtenay finished second in U17 and Jared Parhar and Kishan Parhar were third in U17. Jeff Webb and Quinn Mirau placed third in U15.

“It was great to see a lot of Island kids do well and in particular the Nanaimo kids continue to have success with both the girls and the boys’ side,” said Stephen Epp, Volleyball B.C. regional coach.

Some of the locals went on to compete at nationals at Vancouver’s Spanish Banks this past weekend.
