Nanaimo Raiders forward Tyson Roe fires a shot over the Delta Footmen’s Eamon Butler on Saturday during the B.C. Lacrosse Association’s U19 field lacrosse championships at the University of Victoria.

Nanaimo’s field lacrosse teams were among the best on the Island, but couldn’t quite keep up with the best in B.C.

The Nanaimo Raiders program had a U19 and a U14 squad at the B.C. Lacrosse Association’s Tier 1 youth field provincial championships last weekend at the University of Victoria, but both teams went winless.

Nanaimo has one more chance this coming weekend as the U16 Raiders team has qualified for the BCLA’s Tier 2 provincial championships in Burnaby. The team’s first game is Friday (Feb. 25) against Valley.
