The Mid Isle Highlanders are keeping pace in their first Pacific Coast Soccer League season.

The premier men’s side (1-1-1) tied Khalsa 1-1 last Sunday in Ladysmith, with Chris Merriman scoring for the home team.

This coming weekend, Mid Isle FC faces a new challenge – back-to-back games.

The men visit Surrey United in Cloverdale on Saturday (June 4), then return home to play the Kamloops Excel on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Ladysmith’s Forrest Field.

“Hope to see you all out at the games and following our new club as we try to grow and provide something for local players aspiring to higher levels that will last,” said Bill Merriman, the club’s technical director, in a press release.

Admission is $5 for adults. Youths get in for $2, or free if they wear a soccer jersey or T-shirt.
