It’s only been two wins, but those wins have meant so much to the junior A Nanaimo Timbermen.
The T-men (2-5) have won two of their last three games and showing indications that they’re starting to be competitive with even the best lacrosse teams in B.C.
“They’re all proud to wear the Nanaimo Timbermen jersey and that’s the key,” said Dave Bremner, the team’s coach. “And they don’t want to lose. They want to win and they want to compete every night.”
The T-men have a good opportunity now, as their next three games are against teams that are lower in the standings.
“One game at a time, but a three-game win streak is our goal for the next three games – we’ve chunked our season down into smaller portions – and at least two out of three we’re hoping to get and really improve our record,” Bremner said.
GAME ON … Nanaimo plays Burnaby on Saturday (May 20) at 4:30 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena, then visit the Port Coquitlam Saints the next day on the mainland.
