The junior A Nanaimo Timbermen think they’re better than what they showed last week. Now they get a second chance to make a first impression.
The city’s B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League team (1-2) had a rough go in its first home game, a 14-6 loss to the Delta Islanders last Saturday at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
But now the T-men, coming off a 13-7 win over the New Westminster Salmonbellies, get to play their first game of the season on their home floor, Frank Crane Arena. They host the Burnaby Lakers this Saturday (May 9).
“Hopefully we can put on a good show and come up with another two points there,” said Jon Nicholson, the team’s general manager.
GAME ON … The T-men and Lakers play at 5 p.m. Saturday at Frank Crane.
