Junior B Bucs bounced after blowout loss

The Nanaimo Buccaneers junior B team was blown out 11-5 by the Campbell River Storm in Game 5 on Tuesday on the road.

Junior hockey season in Nanaimo has come to an end.

The Nanaimo Buccaneers junior B team was blown out 11-5 by the Campbell River Storm in Game 5 of the VIJHL’s North Island final on Tuesday on the road. The Bucs lost the series four games to one and were eliminated from the post-season.

Nolan Richardson, Dylan Hartl, Chad Bell, Jayden Schubert and Brady Chin scored for the Bucs, who led 5-4 going into the third period. John Hawthorne and Cedric LeSieur split time in the crease as their team was outshot 52-26.

Forwards Bell and Richardson, along with defenceman Jake Calverley, now graduate from junior hockey.
