Junior A Timbermen try for three in a row

The Nanaimo Timbermen take on the Port Coquitlam Saints in BCJALL action on Saturday (May 16).

The Nanaimo Timbermen have a chance to raise their record above .500 this weekend.

The city’s B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League team takes on the Port Coquitlam Saints on Saturday (May 16).

Nanaimo is coming off a 16-13 barnburner win over the Burnaby Lakers last Saturday at Frank Crane Arena. Brett Hawrys and Alec Molander scored four goals apiece in that game and Connor Leies added a hat trick. Cole Kryworuchka and Jeremy Roe scored two goals apiece and Cody Short also tallied for Nanaimo. Matt Zeller was the winning goalie.

In other team news, Roe has been named team captain. Devan Smith and Hawrys will be alternate captains.

This Saturday’s game starts at 5 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena.
