The Nanaimo Hornets will swarm the rugby pitch this week.

The Hornets Div. 1 men’s and women’s sides return to action after a Thanksgiving break and play home fixtures Saturday (Oct. 17) at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park.

The Hornets men will try to maintain their momentum after defeating the Cowichan Piggies 42-12 earlier this month in the annual Wayne Peace Cup matchup.

The men face the University of Victoria Norsemen in a 1 p.m. kickoff.

The Hornets ladies will be looking for their first victory in league play.

They play the newly christened Westshore Velox RFC (formerly the Velox Valhallians) at 11:30 a.m.

Admission to Hornets home matches is always free.
