Vive la Team France.

Nanaimo's Harbour City FC's Team France U8 boys' soccer team was chosen the BMO Team of the Week earlier this month.

Only 15 soccer sides across the whole country will be selected for the honour this summer. One BMO Team of the Week champion will win $125,000 to refurbish a community field and will also get to go to a pro or international game.

BMO Team of the Week winners are selected based on their team pride, spirit, community commitment and passion for the game.

"The Harbour City FC U8 boys' Team France have shown dedication and passion which extends beyond the field, to the community at large," said Joanne Gassman, BMO Bank of Montreal's vice-president for the B.C.-Yukon region. "The boys' tenacity and good spirit is reflected in their contributions to a stronger community off the field and I am proud to recognize them as BMO Team of the Week."

Team France wins $500, another $500 for the charity of their choice and BMO Team of the Week tracksuits for players and coaches.

"These boys are as committed to fostering team spirit as they are to learning the game," said Jazz Sohal, coach of Harbour City FC Team France. "The energy, passion, and understanding for one another and the way they play the game, is simply brilliant … I could not be more proud of these young superstars."

The grand-prize winner will be determined by a public online vote at BMOsoccer.com from Aug. 5-19.
