Former Clippers team up for championship

Former Nanaimo Clippers went on to capture a championship at the college level.

Joe Perry, Taylor Langford and Justin Favreau were part of the St. Norbert Green Knights team that won the NCAA Div. 3 national championship last Saturday in Minneapolis with a 4-3 win over Adrian College.

Perry, who is from Nanaimo, scored five goals and 12 points in 27 games for the Green Knights in his rookie season.

In other college hockey news, former Nanaimo Clippers player Cody Danberg’s Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs have qualified to reach the NCAA Div. 1’s Frozen Four national semifinals. His team plays Notre Dame Thursday (April 7).
