Nanaimo players were among the stars at Star Bowl 2016.
B.C.’s annual community football all-star games were held earlier this month at Langley’s McLeod Athletic Park, and Nanaimo players were on the winning team.
Running back Jake Borserio, offensive lineman James Dennis-Orr, defensive lineman Wyatt Faickney and defensive back Derion Hughes helped Team White defeat Team Blue 28-23 on April 16. Nanaimo players teamed with athletes from Cowichan, Victoria, White Rock and North Surrey.
Star Bowl wasn’t just a one-day event, as the teams practised in the weeks leading up to the showcase.
