Div. 1 United plays out string

Nanaimo United isn’t ready to call it a season quite yet.

The Div. 1 Vancouver Island Soccer League side, which was eliminated from the Jackson Cup playoffs last weekend, has scheduled its last two regular-season games against last-placed Bays BUFC and first-placed Bays United FC.

Coach Bill Merriman said his team wanted to get in the games, considering it travelled to Oak Bay for games earlier in 2010-11.

United plays BUFC on Sunday (March 20) at 2 p.m. at the Serauxmen Sports Fields, then faces Bays United FC on March 26 at 5 p.m. at Merle Logan Field.
