In other VIU news, Vancouver Island University’s athletics department wants to hit the links with its VIU Nation of sports fans and boosters.

The department hosts its fifth annual fundraising golf tournament on Sept. 16 at the Nanaimo Golf Club.

Mariners athletes will be there to caddy for the golfers and make community connections. Cost for 18 holes of golf and a dinner is $200.
