Clippers earn one point on three-game road trip

Nanaimo lost to Prince George 6-1, tied Langley 3-3, then lost to Chilliwack 4-1 on road swing.

The Nanaimo Clippers weren’t able to find the answers they were seeking on the road.

The city’s B.C. Hockey League team picked up one point on its three-game trip. Nanaimo started with a 6-1 loss to the Prince George Spruce Kings on Friday, bounced back with a 3-3 tie against the Langley Rivermen the next night, but then finished the weekend with a 4-1 setback against the Chilliwack Chiefs on Sunday.

Spencer Hewson was Nanaimo’s goal scorer Friday.

On Saturday, Will LeNeave scored two goals, Ben Solin also tallied and goalie Austin Roden made 45 saves as his team was outshot 48-22.

In the weekend finale, Myles Cunningham scored for the Clips.

GAME ON … Next action for the Clippers is Friday (Nov. 25) when the Victoria Grizzlies visit Frank Crane Arena for a 7 p.m. faceoff.
