The junior B Nanaimo Buccaneers were able to get the better of a North Division rival.
The Bucs held on to defeat the Comox Valley Glacier Kings by a 4-3 score on Saturday up Island. Clayton Peace, Nolan Richardson, Will McNamara and Coleman Doney scored for Nanaimo and Alex Orth made 27 saves for the win.
On Thursday at the Nanaimo Ice Centre, the Bucs were beaten 4-1 by the Victoria Cougars. The Cougs padded their margin of victory with two empty-net goals. Shots were 25-22 for the Bucs, but Jordan Levesque was the only scorer for the home team. To see a photo, please visit www.nanaimobulletin.com.
