Nanaimo BMX Association athletes reached the finish line of another season in style – with victories at grand nationals.
Two club members won national champions and several more earned top-three placings at the American Bicycle Association’s BMX Canadian Grand Nationals at Chilliwack’s Exhibition Park Oct. 7-9.
Allison Churko finished first in the eight-year-old girls’ division in both her main events, and Hunter McGill took first in the 16-year-old expert division in his second main event.

9-10 mixed open - Jonathan Nantais, second, second.
11-12 open - Lukas Ferguson, second, third.
Eight-year-old girls - Allison Churko, first, first.
16-year-old girls - Michelle Berti, third, second.
11-year-old cruiser - Ayden Houle, third, third.
56-50 cruiser - Greg McGill, second, second.
16-year-old expert - Hunter McGill, first; Mitchell Vipond, third, third.
Seven-year-old novice - Sadie Smith, third.
Nine-year-old intermediate - Jonathan Nantais, second.
19-27 expert - Brandon Little, second.
