Nanaimo MMA fans will have another local favourite to root for.
Battlefield Fight League announced this week that Ryan “Rhino” Ballingall (4-5) of Nanaimo Impact MMA will face Vancouver’s Matt “Riot Maker” Baker (5-2) at the Island Beatdown event May 28 at Frank Crane Arena.
Ballingall, a former toughman boxing champion, and Baker have scored the majority of their career wins via first-round knockouts. Both were winners at the BFL Invasion show at Frank Crane Arena last month, when Ballingall choked out his opponent one minute into the first round and Baker knocked his opponent out cold with an elbow from the mount position.
The main event is Denis Kang versus Jesse “J.T. Money” Taylor. Aside from Ballingall, other Impact fighters on the card include Graham Spencer, Jer Kornelson and Eli Wyse.
