Maschmeyer was one of the centrepieces of the Clippers’ trade-deadline transactions. The 5-foot-8, 170 pounder from Bruderheim, Alta. was a finalist for Top Defenceman each of the last two seasons in Alberta’s junior A loop.
He is slated to play in his 250th career game this week.
He has a scholarship to Northern Michigan.
