Streets aren't all that safe

How can those surveyed give Nanaimo a B- for safety and security?

To the Editor,

Re: Poverty flagged in new report, Oct. 9.

How can those surveyed give Nanaimo a B- for safety and security?

Have you forgotten about the break and enters? The break-ins where guns were stolen? The cashier who was pepper sprayed in a holdup? The man who tried to lure two young girls into his vehicle at the aquatic centre? The two women attacked at Buttertubs? The human remains found in the Millstone River?

For its size, Nanaimo seems to have a disproportionate amount of violence, actually. Read the paper and stay informed.
