Re: Suicide leaves an aftermath, March 22.
At Nanaimo Community Hospice, we also realize the devastating impact of suicide on surviving family and friends. We applaud the work provided by all our community partners, including Vancouver Island Crisis Society. Nanaimo Hospice also supports families and friends in their grief following a suicide with free programs such as one-on-one professional counselling, Suicide Bereavement Group and Companions Through Grief Group to list a few of the many services available. Nanaimo Hospice House also has an extensive library with a variety of excellent resources specifically dealing with loss through suicide. At Nanaimo Hospice, we believe that strength comes from partnerships with other community resources and we strive to support and promote these valuable programs throughout our community in helping survivors through their grief journey.
