Re: City considers ending free over-80 passes, Oct. 8
Societies that do not hold their elders in high esteem are doomed to failure. There are many seniors within the community who rely on the community centre for their social and physical well being.
Seniors have contributed more to this country and community than any foreign investors. As a taxpayer, I would rather fund the seniors in our community than support a hotel that would be tax exempt for 10 years.
Ageism is alive and well in Nanaimo.
