Reducing emissions worth the cost

Encouraging more zero-emission cars and compressed gas trucks is vital.

To the Editor,

Re: Transit expansion major expense for regional district, April 3.

Why is the regional district concerned about $300,000 for new compressed natural gas buses? This seems like a small cost considering the benefits of fewer emissions. The toxic chemicals found in our bodies are responsible illness and death.

If people can afford to do so, the majority prefer to drive. Therefore encouraging more zero-emission cars and compressed gas trucks is vital.
