To the Editor,
Re: BIA leaders share ideas for success, April 10.
This week’s new buzz words of self-promotion are “leading-edge”, “good job” and “how do you guys do it?”
They come from downtown business association general manager Corrie Hostetter boasting what she says her colleagues from other cities are saying about the local Business Improvement Association.
The trumpeting of her own group comes on the heels of Economic Development CEO Susan Cudhay’s presentation to council last month, in which she dipped into bureaucratic lingo using words like “leveraging, equity raise and lure package”.
When will city-funded organizations just do the work they were set up for instead of trying to bafflegab us with words?
