Re: Corporation CEO involved in credit card controversy, Aug. 18.

Sasha Angus is an economic development superstar.

Since founding the Greater Victoria Development Agency in 2007, Angus hosted more than 100 trade delegations identifying business attraction and retention strategies which elevated Victoria to one of the most sought after commerce destinations in Canada.

In the days since announcing his appointment as CEO, the Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation has received an overwhelmingly positive reaction from stakeholders in the community.

Those who know and respect Angus understand his reputation speaks for itself.

He has repeatedly displayed the utmost professionalism and demonstrated his commitment to the community and the Island’s economic future.

Whether through his leadership on the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance, or voluntary commitments through organizations like the United Way, Angus has proven his commitment to a strong, bright future for our region.

We all have things in our past we regret. True leaders acknowledge the past and move forward.

The NEDC board is confident Angus will bring strong leadership and new economic opportunities to Nanaimo.
