To the editor,
I’ve been noticing that on the news programs, there’s usually something featured regarding various homeless camps. The campers continually seem to speak under the guise of ‘homes not hate.’
No one hates you. But if you move multiple campers onto a children’s playground or have a popular provincial park closed down to the responsible paying public just before a long weekend so homeless people can take over, leave immense, toxic quantities of garbage along rivers, etc., break into numerous cars and buildings at Cameron Island, ugly everything up with spray paint and leave needles everywhere; here’s a hint, this behaviour does not cultivate warm compassion from the public.
Are you sure it’s about homes and not about not going to work and doing drugs all day? At least preach the truth.

The Nanaimo News Bulletin ran a survey where people voted for or against the illegal occupation. A very high majority voted against it. Why isn’t this posted as a headline? What happened to democracy? Majority rules!
