LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Recycle fees should go to exchange

Nanaimo residents keep paying these fees but we don’t seem to get any benefits

To the editor,

Re: Depot’s work goes beyond recycling, Letters, Oct. 31.

The Nanaimo Recycling Exchange does a good job but is underfunded. On the other hand, all sorts of products have recycling fees – $35 for a TV, for example. Where do all the recycling fees go and why isn’t some of this money given to facilities like the Nanaimo Recycling Exchange?

Nanaimo residents keep paying these fees but we don’t seem to get any benefits.
