If you pass someone on the street do not look the other way as if they do not exist, says letter writer.

To the editor,

Attended a service on July 15 for another of our lost souls in Nanaimo. Too many gone over the years, but in truth in the memories we hold they are never really lost.

They may not be perfect but the demons they fight are those we or our own families might encounter at some point in our lives.

If you pass someone on the street do not look the other way as if they do not exist. A simple nod of acknowledgement or a kind word can do wonders. Cast not the first stone.
