LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Convoy isn’t helping us get through pandemic

If we all work together and get our shots the world can move on, says letter writer

To the editor,

I am not on Facebook so I could not post a comment on the trucker anti-vax convoy. However I did vote a resounding no.

I just want you to know that my best friend is a health-care worker. She is triple vaxxed and always wears her PPE. She has just tested positive because an undiagnosed patient passed it to her. She is one who will be caring for all the anti-vax truckers who end up in the ICU. She will do it with care and compassion, because that is what she does. I don’t think these anti-vaxxers are really against vaccines. I think they are just unhappy people who need a cause. Perhaps they should look in the mirror and really look at themselves and ask what they can do to make themselves happy again.

We just had our third shot yesterday and if needed we will get a fourth. That makes me happy. I feel if we all work together and get our shots the world can move on. I feel anti-vaxxers are holding the rest of us hostage. So please everyone – look in the mirror.

Lynn Camacho, Ladysmith
