To the editor,

Re: Three men arrested after security guard threatened with knife in Nanaimo, March 29.

Who can answer this question?

You have three males all “well-known” to police and all “prolific offenders with a propensity for violence” all released after assaulting a security guard.

So these prolific offenders are allowed to roam the streets until, what – they murder someone before they are imprisoned?

Has this become the new norm in Nanaimo? Good luck citizens, we only do something if you get killed, otherwise we are letting these criminals out and about and they can do whatever they want with no repercussion to their actions.

Seriously – someone answer what is the purpose to catch and release. Why bother employing more officers if all they do is catch and release?

D. Cousin, Nanaimo
