Lax laws to blame for gun violence

I did not expect to see this rapid deployment training in my lifetime.

To the Editor,

Re: Police officers train to take on school shooters, March 10.

I got a very real eye-opener after seeing your front-page photo, because the rapid deployment training wasn’t done inside an American school, but inside the former Dufferin Elementary School. I did not expect to see this rapid deployment training in my lifetime. It’s a very sad state of affairs when the RCMP have to practise on how to deal with an armed gunman.

I 100 per cent blame the overflow of American gun violence in their schools to the firearm junkies, and the too-lax gun laws to which make it all too easy for the criminals to acquire illegal handguns.
