Re: Council hears appeals over wet housing, April 16.
Along with 200 to 300 other residents, I attended a City of Nanaimo public hearing last week. I was quite impressed with the manner and behaviour of Mayor John Ruttan and all the councillors.
It was a long and sometimes heated meeting, but our mayor was courteous and welcoming to everyone there and conducted the meeting with firmness that included compassion.
He made it as easy as possible for the speakers and listened intently to all of us for four hours – as did the councillors.
I think we as residents can be proud to have these leaders working on our behalf.
