Bouquet to the old man who accosted me in the bank lineup and berated me for my driving and cutting him off and asked how did I get my driver’s licence. I think you need a bright bouquet in your life.

This week’s Beefs and Bouquets page is all about positivity.

The News Bulletin is carrying on a tradition this week and reserving the first Beefs and Bouquets page of the year for bouquets only. Beefs will return in next Thursday’s issue.

BOUQUET To my sweet and generous neighbour Ali for the gift of the dresser and a massager.

BOUQUET To the kind neighbour who picked up our garbage waiting for pickup when a misguided or drunk driver knocked over the bins at 2:30 a.m.

BOUQUET To the friendly service counter clerk at Canadian Tire who patiently helped resolve a problem with defective Christmas lights.

BOUQUET To Ricky’s for the fabulous Christmas light spectacular on the corner.

BOUQUET To the emergency department at NRGH. They treat our 95-year-old mother with such dignity and respect. All the team was wonderful.

BOUQUET Thank you to all the people who save Country Grocer and Fairway till slips for the 7-10 Club and an even bigger thank you to those two outlets for their support programs and to Liz who volunteers her time to collect and tally these receipts.

BOUQUET To Angela at Dollar Tree for showing me the things better suited for the homeless and street people and the woman who entered our conversation and showed me the hand sani-wipes, also a much-needed item.

BOUQUET To Woodgrove Pines wellness clinic on Metral Drive for the wonderful light display they have put up for all to enjoy. Every year they have a marvellous display but this year is outstanding.

BOUQUET Help me, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up. Luckily two gentlemen drove by on St. Andrews and helped me. I did not get your names. Thanks from a senior citizen.

BOUQUET G&D Maintenance cleaned our roof gutters but couldn’t reach one segment. They said they’d come back with a longer pole, and they did. Their charges are eminently reasonable. Thank you Bruce, Glen, and Nate.

BOUQUET To the person who found my iPhone in the red case in the Michael’s parking lot and turned it in. Thanks so much.

BOUQUET To Sherry at Shopper’s Drug Mart post office. I truly appreciated your suggestions on such a busy day. I saved one-half the cost to send my parcel because of you.

BOUQUET To Scout, Finch and Clover. You all deserve to be in our neighbourhood magazine as ‘pets of the month.’ What beautiful kittens.

BOUQUET To staff at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre for their excellent customer service.

BOUQUET To the kind and thoughtful lady that found my car keys and dropped them off at the Fresh Slice Pizza on Bowen Road. Thank you so very much.

BOUQUET To the very nice woman in the parking office at the hospital. Thank you for your patience in the face of my grumpy response to a parking violation that was clearly my mistake.

BOUQUET A bouquet of cellphones to Caroline at Brooks Landing Home Hardware. Glad you liked that Santa Claus was coming to town. Hope your turkey wasn’t dry.

BOUQUET To Tim and staff at Big ‘O’ Tire for their excellent customer service.

BOUQUET To the two ladies who paid for my groceries at Thrifty’s when my credit card was declined. My husband had just passed away unexpectedly and the bank was quick to close our joint Visa account. And that day was my birthday.

BOUQUET To staff at Salvation Army for teaching me new things and for the kindness they have shown me. I really enjoyed my work experience.

BOUQUET To Brian at Little Caesars, thank you for all the patience you have shown during my work op; it was a pleasure.

BOUQUET To the people/person that phoned 911 as I stood on the bridge Nov. 30. We may never know how that man’s story turns out but together we gave him another day. The takeaway: Tell the people around you how much you appreciate them. For those we know who are suffering, reach out today.

BOUQUET Thanks to Don Bamford and his group of talented singers and dancers who treated the retired teachers to a beautiful Christmas concert.

BOUQUET To Sunny at Harewood Starbucks, great customer service, knowledgeable and always smiling and efficient, you are a star at Starbucks.

BOUQUET To the old man who accosted me in the bank lineup and berated me for my driving and cutting him off and asked how did I get my driver’s licence. I was three cars behind you, so I was not the person your tirade should have been directed at, but I can handle your nasty comments and didn’t feel any need to try and correct you. I think you need a bright bouquet in your life.

BOUQUET To Cabela’s for adding Tim as a customer greeter in their store. How refreshing to be greeted by him in such a courteous manner when you’re coming in to shop.

BOUQUET To all the children with their parents who have been seen adding little Christmas decorations to our gnome home. Magic happens, especially at Christmas.
