BEEF With today’s serious concerns regarding safety, how can Nanaimo have an aging fuel storage depot situated in the middle of a residential area, together with a fuel discharge dock supplying that installation adjacent to pleasure craft marinas?
BOUQUET To the Nanaimo city works who worked through Friday night to stop the water main leak on Ross Road. Our basement was full of water and they were on it. Thank you; we don’t know what we would have done if you didn’t look into the problem so fast and fix it that night.
BEEF To the RDN for not running buses on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Some of us rely on this service. I decided not to get a ride with an impaired driver on New Year’s Day and had to walk home for over an hour.
BOUQUET To my fantastic neighbours on Seventh Street who came to the rescue when my car was rear-ended by a motorcyclist. They made sure we were both OK, swept up the debris and re-directed the traffic. You are the best.
BEEF To some parents who drive their kids to Dover Bay. The crosswalk on McGirr is not your personal drop-off zone. Pull to the right or go into the parking lot like everyone else. You’re backing up traffic, making it worse than it already is.
BOUQUET To the 911 operator, Engine 3 fire guys, Rick and Dave and John and Natasha, Nanaimo/Ladysmith EMS crews. Everyone was so compassionate and friendly. Even at 1:30 a.m. in the pouring rain, everyone made sure I was calm and OK. Great first responders in Nanaimo. Thank you all.
BEEF To the person blaming postal workers because he/she received only one card by post and the rest were e-mail. The post office just delivers what they get – they don’t write and address the cards. Most people are sending e-mail now because stamps are too expensive. Blame the sender not the messenger.
