Bouquet To the person on a street bike driving down Bowen Road wearing a full-on fuzzy Elmo helmet. I wasn’t having a very good day and you made me laugh when I saw you behind me.

BOUQUET To Devon, exceptional yoga teacher at Lifestyles Health and Fitness. You make a difference, thank you for giving this world good energy.

BEEF Don’t blame teachers for all the breaks. Blame government; it’s all about money. Teachers do not get paid for breaks or summer. Kudos to all teachers and staff in School District 68.

BOUQUET My wife and I wish to thank Alex and the staff at Nanaimo Veterinary Hospital for their compassion, support and professionalism as we had to say our goodbyes to our faithful dog of 15-plus years. We could not have asked for a more gentle and loving farewell.

BEEF To the vandals who broke the glass at a bus stop shelter at Terminal Park Mall.

BOUQUET To Adam Rush of Adams Truck n Hoe Service and Const. Richard de Vos of the Nanaimo RCMP for working together to return a stolen item valued at more than $15,000 to the original owner. Great to have honest and dedicated people in our community.

BEEF To city councillors who, like President Trump, believe we need more walls. In our case though it’s $25,000, not $5 billion.

BOUQUET Thanks to the wonderful amazing customers of Woodgrove Save-On-Foods for their generous donations during our Round Up fundraising event for B.C. Children’s Hospital. Because of your kindness and generosity we are able to help keep smiles where they belong – on children.

BEEF To the two bullies who won’t let other people take their chairs in the office in our local union.

BOUQUET To the gentleman unloading the Junk in our Trunk box van at the recycle depot. You, unprompted, offered to unload my dishwasher. Thanks for the simple kindness, all the best to you.

BEEF To the person complaining about the use of the term ‘master bedroom’ as referring to slavery. If you google synonyms for ‘master,’ you get main, principal, chief, leading, predominant, foremost, great, grand, most important, biggest. I don’t see anything referring to slavery.

BOUQUET Thank you to John at Image Optometry. I love my new glasses. Your service and follow-up was wonderful.

BEEF To the beefer on Colbourne Drive. Have you tried reaching out to your fellow neighbours? Maybe they are not aware of the noise they are making. A knock-knock would help.

BOUQUET To my wonderful amazing husband. I can’t even begin to tell you or show you how grateful I am for you. I put you through a lot of stress and yet you still stand there and love me. Thank you for choosing me thank you for choosing my kids and making them ours. I will love you.

BEEF Why would you say mean and hurtful things to a lady that enjoys the thrift store and talking to people. Maybe she is lonely. And who are you to judge? Being kind to her is something you might consider.

BOUQUET To the person on a street bike driving down Bowen Road wearing a full-on fuzzy Elmo helmet. I wasn’t having a very good day and you made me laugh when I saw you behind me.

BEEF To some strata council members and their right-hand buds for being bullies and pulling sneaky fast ones. They are intimidators and control freaks.

BOUQUET To the honest person who turned in my husband’s wallet that he forgot at the Country Club Centre lottery desk. May the good karma fairy bless you.

BEEF To people who see or hear of an abused or neglected animal; if you do nothing about it, you are guilty, too. Call the SPCA.

BOUQUET To Allan M., a very nice, skilled, honest gentleman who fixed my shopping cart when it unexpectedly broke at a carpet store. Also to a nice gentleman who was at the cashier desk.

BEEF To the IIHF officials who pulled off the robbery of the century. The women’s hockey team from Finland were their victims. Their gold medal was stolen and handed to the U.S.A. on a silver platter.

BOUQUET To Dr. Darren Hoffman for an amazing-fitting upper denture. So grateful

BEEF To all restaurant owners who allow their waitresses to serve food with long hair not pulled back and literally hanging in or around my plate. I will not visit anymore.

BOUQUET Warm blankets and love to the staff at NRGH attending to me on my day surgery. I have rarely felt so cared for.

BEEF Shame on the driver of the white truck who did a hit-and-run on our car in the parking lot in the north end. $1,200 damage. We’re seniors and not healthy.

BOUQUET Kate helped me navigate the halls and elevators at the ambulatory clinic at NRGH. Without her time and pleasant way I would be there yet. A memory that will last forever. Thank you.

BEEF To the patio company. Their salesman came door-to-door promising a good price and a 25-year warranty. After the work was done and warranty work was needed, the warranty period changed and they wanted more money to do the warranty work.

BOUQUET To Sue C. and volunteers on another successful fashion show and silent auction for the Canadian Cancer Society. Her tireless efforts, along with Lynn and super models, were outstanding. Thank you.

BEEF To the strata owners who feel they are exempt from obeying and adhering to strata bylaws and rules.

BOUQUET To the two kind police officers who found my mobility scooter broken down and went and got a small truck and found out where I lived and brought my scooter home; very thoughtful and kind of them. Thanks very much fellas.

BEEF So the ex-CAO case is closed. What about the money charged on city credit cards, is that also closed? The legal costs to the city, also closed? Where’s the justice?

BOUQUET Thanks to the sanitation driver on Stirling Avenue. He has restored my faith in humanity. I’m a senior citizen and I was waiting to bring in my bins when he emptied them, he hopped in and delivered them to my home.

BOUQUET To United Floors in Courtenay. We are absolutely pleased with the final outcome and would most highly recommend the United Floors team. The flooring is beautiful; thank you.
