Re: Candidates critique theatre expansion, Nov. 4.
The abilities to share goods and ideas were essential elements in the development of human society. The most impressive, ancient cave paintings could be created because the prehistoric hunters taxed themselves to feed the artists. To cultivate culture through community taxes is desirable, legitimate and time-honoured practice. Supporting local, innovative theatre means willingness to enrich the life of our community and presenting the lasting gift of human collaboration for the generations to come.
