Yvette Patricia Clarck
March 31, 1941 ~ December 21, 2010
Predeceased by her adopted daughter, Tonya; her parents, Barbara & Bill Kent of Vancouver; and her sister, Yvonne of Nanaimo.
She is survived by her loving husband, Art; sister, Margot (Victoria); sister-in-law, Arlene (Andre); sons: Todd (Linda), Kent (Teresa); and two grandchildren: Ryan and Mila.
Yvette was born in Port Alberni and went to school in Vancouver. She still visited the island where she met and married her husband, Art on December 18, 1959. After the birth of their two sons, they adopted a baby girl who had many health problems. She unselfishly cared for her for 40 years until she passed away, June 3, 2010.
Yvette also worked as an LPN at Dufferin Place for a number of years, but her entire life was devoted to her family. During her last week with us she received, from master carver Mike Penny, a journey feather and carved box to guide her on her way. She cherished this gift and cannot thank him enough for it.
The family would also like to thank her doctors and nurses at NRGH and special thanks to the nurses of palliative care for their sensitivity to all of us during her stay there.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation, in her name.
