WIN TO HIS MANY FRIENDS

Win’s long life of 89 years began in Sedgwick, Alberta on his parents farm. He survived the tough years of his childhood and the harder years of World War II as a Lancaster Bomber Pilot. Win bought a G.M. Dealership in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan which he owned until retirement. He lost his first wife Betty to cancer in 1970. Win and his second wife Loretta moved to Nanaimo, B.C. where they enjoyed life on the island.
The Meadow Lake Golf Course was the beginning of his long interest in the game. Win is survived by his wife Loretta, daughter Marna (Don) Wood of Bellingham, Washington, son Eric of Courtenay, B.C. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren in Capriano, Italy. Loretta's children Curt and Kathy Colwell of Dorintosh, SK and Leanne (Blaine) White of Tugaske, SK and seven grandchildren, sister Gwen, Terry and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held Nov. 4, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 257 Lantzville, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Better Breather Club of Nanaimo, 3706 Asprey Ave., Nanaimo, B.C. V9T 2C4 of which he was a great supporter, would be appreciated.
