"BUD" William Thom Hamilton MacInnes

Nov. 12, 1914 - Nov. 25, 2005

Known as Bud to his friends and HoHo to his grandchildren, he was born in Winnipeg Nov. 12, 1914 and passed away in Nanaimo Nov. 25, 2005. He died peacefully at home in the presence of Naomi, his lifelong companion and loving wife for 61 years. He leaves 4 children Kevin, Wayne, Fiona and Stuart and 9 grandchildren.

Bud was a magnificent man who pursued life with passion, excelling at whatever he set his hand to. His wartime days in the Navy (RCNVR) fueled his joy of boating, he loved steelhead fishing up to his last trip to Stamp Falls at 90, and had a passion for photography and skiing; from his pioneer days on Hollyburn to 23 years at Whistler to his last season at Mount Washington at 87 years old.

Everyone who knew him appreciated his special brand of humour, quick wit and his love of a good debate. He was a unique and unforgettable character who will be missed by all his friends and family.

The family would like to give our sincerest thanks to Dr. K. Wayne Jones of Lantzville and to the Nanaimo Home Nursing Care Service who took such good care of his medical needs. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Legion Hall on Lantzville Road on Monday, Dec. 5 from 2 to 4 pm.
