It is with great honour, pride and sorrow that we announce the passing of William George Horman on January 27, 2018, with the comfort of his loving wife Zorka and daughter Tricia by his side.

He was born August 23, 1928 in Nanaimo, B.C. where he lived his entire life of 89 years on beautiful Vancouver Island.

Bill was an only child born to Bill and Susan Horman. He became a well known successful businessman who first took over the families Menswear Store after the sudden passing of his Father at the young age of 52. He operated the Commercial Street store for over 25 years in 3 different locations. He re-named his final store "The Wheelhouse". 

Bill's next 6 year adventure was as the General Manager of  the newly developed Fiesta Square consisting of the twin Theatres, Restaurant, Lounge and both 5 and 10 pin bowling centre. Bill later moved on to have a very successful 30 year career in commercial and residential real estate. Marketing townhomes, fringing morning star golf course before retiring at 71

Bills passion for people, his community and family life style was representative in everything he did. Everyone that had the pleasure of meeting Bill whether it was for business or pleasure were certain to get a big warm smile of sincerity. He was greatly respected by his family, friends, co-workers and customers. He was often referred to by his colleagues as Mr Rotary and Gentleman Bill.

Bill was also a well known athlete as a young youth playing Senior Hockey and Basketball. He won the Canadian Lawn Bowling Championship as well as became the assistant Pro at Nanaimo's original Golf Course. One of his fondest memories was playing for the Nanaimo Mens Senior Allstar basketball team against the Original Harlem Globetrotters.

His love and passion for his community, business colleagues, friends and family was demonstrated by his membership and achievement with the following organizations:

Bill was predeceased by his son Barry, he leaves behind his wife Zorka of 62 beautiful years, his children Dawn, Brad (Michelle) and Tricia. 5 grandchildren Blake, Barry (Stephanie), Jennifer, (Elle) and 2 great grandchildren Avery and Brinley.

The family will be honouring Bill's wishes to not have a service or life celebration.
