Wendy Joan Guizzo (Nee Wright)
With deepest sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Wendy on November 3, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her mother Joan in 2003, Wendy is survived by her husband of forty years, Larry, their three children Lisa Cronk, Steve Guizzo (Nicole), Leanne Guizzo (Doug), and their five grandchildren Allison, Lauren, Maren, Isabella and Owen. Wendy also leaves to mourn her father Ken Wright Sr., sisters Linda Chan (Ken), Laurel Russell (Neil), brother Ken Wright Jr. (Brenda), brother-in-law Norman Guizzo as well as her nieces and nephews and many friends.
Born in Nanaimo on December 15, 1947, Wendy remained a lifelong resident. She enjoyed providing loving care for others, first for her husband and children and later as a care aide for the residents of Kiwanis Lodge and Dufferin Place.
Wendy was the sunshine that filled our lives with happiness. She believed that every occasion was a cause for celebration, never missing a parade or family barbeque. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her love of all things bright and sparkly, and her famous sugar cookies.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10th at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 100 Chapel Street, Nanaimo, at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made in Wendy’s memory to the B.C. Cancer Agency and the NRGH Palliative Care Unit.
