Victor Charles Hilborne

April 12, 1948 ~ June 26, 2016

Victor passed away at home after a short battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his mother and father (Doreen in 1994 and Desmond Hilborne in 2000)

Also his brother Ron in February of 2007. He is survived by his Spouse of 27 years, Sue Johnson, his Daughter Tammy (Roland) Schmelzer of Flatbush Alberta, his Stepson Brian (Naomi) Johnson of Ladysmith, his Granddaughters Keisha Hilborne and Allison Johnson, sister Pat Hilborne of Victoria, Sister in law Susan Simpson of Prince Rupert B.C also various nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Victor was a standing member of the Cranberry Fire Hall in the Cassidy area at the time of his death and had been a big advocate of the Cassidy Race Track. He had bee going to the races since he was a child and was a big fan of the sprint cars. He was one of those people who always needed to be surrounded by others (the more the merrier) and was always the first to volunteer to help others. He will be sadly missed by all his family and many friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. H. Mark and others at the Family Practice Clinic, the doctors and nurses at the Cowichan District Hospital ER for all your caring and understanding when we came for your help. Also to the Pallative and Home Support workers that made it possible for Victor to stay at home for his final days.

Cremation was done by Telford’s Funeral Services.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on August 20th from 2pm-5pm at Cedar Community Hall. 2388 Cedar Rd. (Across from Cedar Memorial Gardens)
