APPLETON Thomas George (March 18, 1922- November 26, 2007) passed away peacefully at home. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Tom an his family came to Nanaimo in 1970. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Christine, and children Michael (Brenda), Megan (Grant), Melanie (Ross), Merrill (Lawrence), and Martin, grandchildren Leslie, Brent, Ryan, Erin, Carrie, Drew, Jason, James, Travis, and Larissa and great granddaughter Jessie.
Tom was for many years a downtown merchant, a long time member of St.Paul's Anglican Church, proudly served Canada during World War II and was a member of Branch 256 Royal Canadian Legion. Tom will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour and love of his family.
A celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 10:00 am in St.Paul's Anglican Church, 100 Church St., Nanaimo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart House in Victoria or the Curacy Fund of St.Paul's Church.
