The family of Stewart Wright regret to announce his passing, Aug. 2, 2019. He was born in Yorkshire, UK, Dec. 24, 1936. Stu was predeceased by sons, Steven & Simon. Left to lovingly remember him are his wife, Colleen, his children and grandchildren: Warren (Mei, children Rebecca & Derek), Mark (his mother Valerie Marlow), Julie (Ivo children Nick, Zan Alena), Angela (son August), Janet (children Jack, Farrah,and their father Mike), sisters Ann, Doreen, nieces & nephews in Florida & UK and sister-in-law, MaryAnn Maloney.
While employed 13 years with Alcan's Kemano Powerhouse, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, built his 42' sailboat and explored the BC coast. He taught the Millwright trade at Nelson's Selkirk College. After a move to Powell River, in 1979, he started the Mechanics Program for Malaspina College (VIU) in Powell River, taught plumbing in Grenada, Caribbean, and Guyana, S.Amer. His most fulfilling career was passing on his knowledge by teaching others.
Thank you to his former students and others who have written kind messages to our family. Thank you to Dr. Jonker, the paramedics, and the emergency staff at NGH for their care and compassion.
